MARINE DISASTERS.

A STEAMER WRECKED, FIFTY PERSONS DROWNED. Received February 14, 8.50 a.m. LONDON, February 13. The Pacific Steam Navigation Company's steamer Lima was wrecked in Magellan Straits. Fifty persons were drowned.

FURTHER DETAILS. Received February 15, 9.25 p.m. LONDON, February 14.

The Lima, bound from Liverpool for Cellao, was wrecked at Huamblin Island. One hundred and eightyeight passengers with 17 of the crew have arrived at Ancud. Forty-four passengers and thirty-eight of the crew are still aboard. Help has been sent. Of the passengers two are from Liverpool, and rhi remainder from ports of call in South America. The crew of 60 signed on at Liverpool.

The Chanzy was wrecked near Ciudadela, 8 well-known danger spot, which is unlighted. All vessels arriving report terrific seas in the Mediterranean.

The Compagne Generate TransAtlantique believe the inrush uf water caused the boiler to explode, rending the vessel and causing her to sink immediately. Most of the passenger? were asleep when the disaster occurred.

One hundred bodies are still floating about. It is impossible to recover them owing to the high seas.
