(From Our Own Correspondent.) Friday. Mr Gordon Hughan, of the Motor Garage, has imported an up- to-date 20 h.p. five-seater Ford motor-car for hiring purposes. Mr F. Jackson, Borough Overseer, met with a painful accident, yesterday afternoon, he was attending to the boiling of tar, and was about to replenish the supply, in the boiling tank. On taking the plug out of a barrel of tar the liquid gushed out suddenly and struck Mr Jackson in the face, and covering him from head to foot. Fortunately the tar was not hot, or his injuries would have been serious.
