STOCK MARKET.

The New Zealand Loan and' Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows on their fortnightly stocksale yesterday: We submitted a fair range of sheep, being principally culled ewes, and a small entry of lambs, all selling well, considering the class. In cattle we had a good catalogue, the entries, chiefly young cattle, all selling at good sound prices, in fact in advance ol recent sale rates. At the close of the day we had a complete clearance. Aged ewes ranged from 4s to 6s, culls 3s, forward ewes 7s, best woolly lambs 7s 7d; 18 months steers 60s to 665, yearlings 36s to 495, 2 year heifers £2 53 to £2 10s; yearlings, 36s to 40s.

Messrs Dalgety and Company. Ltd., ! report having held ttrir usual fortnightly sale at the Waipoua yarde, yesterday, when both sheep and cattle came forward far in excess of advertised numbers. The yarding of sheep comprised three thousand of all classes, and we have to report a total clearance. The tone of the market was all through very muc-i stronger that it has been for some time; and as we had some very good lines of both sheep and cattle in satisfactory business was done. A very forward line of really good four-tooth wethers made lis lid, another line made lis 7d. Good woolly rape lambs, 8s 2d; shorn rape lambs, 7s 2d; medium rape lambs, shorn, 6s 6d; aged ewes from 6s to 7s 3d; aline of 400 two-tooth ewes, small, 10s 6d; other two-tooth ewes from 9a 9d to 10s. We had a good yarding of cattle, which met a keen demand and alllines offered changed hands at satisfactory prices. A pen of, 60 three year bullocks made £5 8s; 18-month steers, £3 14s; two-year steers from £4 4s to £4 6s; four-year bullocks, very forward, £6 12s; yearling steers and heifers, 41s; store cows from £3 4s to £3 12s. At our next sale we will be offering a good line of 700 two-tooth wethers on account of Messrs Barton Bros., Mataikona.
