MASTERTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.
Messrs Levin and Co,. Ltd., report as follows:—We held our monthly sale of wool, skins, Hides, tallow, etc., yesterday, when we sold 60 bales and 200 bags of wool, 2,000 sheepskins, 250 hides and a quantity of tallow, horsehair, rabbitskins, etc. There was a fair attendance of buyers, and prices realised for everything in the catalogue were at a high level. We quote:— Skins.—Fine crossbred, 8d to B|d; crossbreds, 7d to 7Jd; hoggets, 6d to 7|d; dead skins, 4d to 6Jd; dead hoggets, 5d to s|d; quarter to half wools, 4d to 5Jd; dry pelts, 2£d to 4Jd. Tallow.—Parcels in shipping order £24 15s, tins £lB to £2O ss, rough fat £l6. Horsehair. —Is to Is 3d per lb; rabbitskins Is per lb. Hides. —Ox, s§dto6Jd; cow, 5d to 6£d; cut and slippy, 2d to sd; calf, to B|d. Wool. —The odd bales of wool offered sold very well. There was a good demand for scouring lots of locks at 3Jd to 4d, and some bales of crossbred realised 9£d. fWe quote: —Oddments crossbred, 8d to 9|d; lambs wool, 7d to 9£d; seedy lambs, 5d to 6fd; bellies and pieces. 5d to 6£d; locks, 3d to 4d. Our next sale will be held on Wednesday, 9tn March, 1910. The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association, Ltd., and Messrs Dalgety and Uo., Ltd. c report as follows:—We held our monthly sale of wool, skins, and hides yesterday, when we offered 40 bales and 250 bflgs wool, 3,500 sheepskins, 200 hides, and calfskins, and a quantity of horsehair, tallow, etc. There
was the usual attendance of buyers, and bidding was very spirited, especially so with clean fl ece and lambs' wool. Other lines met with good competition, and were disposed of at current rate?, which are mui h higher than those ruling at our last salr>. We quote.—Wool—Fleece, 81d toSd; fleece, seedy, 6d; fleecy, logstained, 7£d to 7fd; dead wool, 6£d to 7Jd; lambs, B£d to 9|d; lambs seedy. 4|d; pieces, 3fd to locks, 3jsd to 4Jd; crutchings, s£d to s£d; black, sfd. Skins.—Crossbred fine, 7gdtoßsd; crosshred, 6fd to 7|u; crossbred dead, sfd to. 6£d; crossbred seedy, 5Jd; crossbred broken, 4fcl; crossbred dead and broken, 4|d; shorta, 3d to 4d; black, 4£d. Hides. Cow 6d; cow slippy 4§dto s|d; cow slippy pelt dry 4|d to 5Jd; cow cut and slippy, 4§d; yearling, 7d; yearling dry, 4|d to 5Jd, ox dry, 6fd; ox slippy part dry 4Jd; calf, 8d to B£d; calf slippy, 4d to s|d; calf cut, s£d. Horns.—3s 6d per hundred. Horsehair, Is 2£d lb. Our next sale will be held on Wednesday, March 9th, 1910.
