PHILADELPHIA FIRE.

PANIC AMONG EMPLOYEES FRENZIED WOMEN JUMP PROM UPPER S'IORIES. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright, Received January 21, 8.25 a.m. NEW YORK, January 20. The cause of the fire in the Philadelphia factory was the fusing of an electric wire on the third story of the building. A panic ensued among the employees. There was an utter absence of discipline. The stairway was blocked. Frenzied women jumped from the fourth, fifth, and sixth stories, though the crowd below shouted, "Wait for the fire-escapes." At least a dozen girls were killed, and others are probably under the collapsed building. Twenty of the girls are in the hospital. Several are unlikely to recover.
