METEROLOGICAL.
By Telecrauh—Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 15. The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast:— Moderate to strong westerly winds have prevailed over the North Island, and southerly in the South. Heavy gales were reported last night 'and this morning in Foveaux Strait. The present indications are for a rising barometer in the South Island, with moderate to strong southerly winds and cloudy and changeable weather. The barometer will probably fall slightly in the North, with moderate to strong westerly winds and warm and humid conditions.
