MARTINBOROUGH SPORTS.
The annua) sports gatheringg under the auspices of the Martinborough Caledonian Society, took place on Monday last. There was a good attendance, and the sports were a decided success from every point of view. Good entries were received, and in several of the events some close finishes resulted. A great deal of the success of the sports is due to the effort of the courteous and energetic secretary, Mr F. McAllum. Following are the results:—150 Yards Maiden.—E. Bates 1, Fuller 2. Time, 16sec. Martinborough Handicap.—First distance 100 yards: Bates 12yds, 1; Sevens 7yds. 2: Fuller 12yds, 3. Time, 9 2-ssec.
