GREYTOWN NEWS.
(From Our Resident Reporter). Monday. A cottaie in the occupation of Mr Cooper, and owned by Mr O. J. Jury, was tjurnt to the ground late on Friday evening. Mr Cooper, who goes in for bee and fruit culture, was in Greytown when the fire occurred, and the contents of the cottage together with a large quantity of bee material, which he had just received from the manufacturer, was destroyed. The origin of the fire is Unknown.
The Boy Scouts held a floral service in the Church of England Schoolroom on Sunday afternoon, when there was a full muster. The boys afterwards marched to the Hospital and distributed floral gifts among the patients. Dalgety and Co. held their fortnigiitly sale of stock at the Greytown yards, when a fair "number of stock was yarded, and ruling prices were obtained. The Boy Scouts are holding a Christmas Fair in S. Mark's Schoolroom on Thursday, the 23rd, for the purpose of obtaining funds towards paying for their uniforms. life *pota':o crrfps ardilrid lh£"district are locking well. The area planted !s not so large,as previous years. I heir of no complaints in regard to the blight at present.
