PREPARATIONS FOR CHRIST- • MArf. Occupying a most enviable position among the commercial houses in Masterton is that of the W.F.C.A., so well-known throughout the Wairarapa. On entering the Grocery and Provision Department, one is at once struck with its bright and pleasing appearance and the continuous "rush" of business going on. The arrangement of the numerous lines is particularly effective, everything being set in a most tempting manner that immediately arrests attention. Near the main entrance a special stand has been'set up for the display of confectionery. Here the well-known name ofJPascall plays a prominent part, their lines being in great profusion and variety. Bon Bons, Cosaques, chocolates in fancy boxes, and every imaginable kind of sweets are to be seen. As usual the Provision Department is a special feature. Christmas hams and bacons are always a leading line with tne firm, and this year will prove no exception as in addition to a large stock of other brands, the widely known "Morepork'' hams and bacon can be obtained. The finest delicacies, such as Peck's curried fowl, duck, lobster, Stilton cheese in jars, gorgonzola, Taylor's old port cheese in jars, Heinz varied nes are stocked. The crystallised fruits include apricots, greengages, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, while Crosse and Blackwell'e choice lines are in strong evidence. The range of fruits, which have been specially selected, em-braces-the finest and choicest varieties, and includes the best cooking figs, Spanish muscatels, currants, sultanas, and raisins. The very popular Drapery Department is keenly alive to the requirements of the festive season, having made full provision for coping with the Jarger volume of trade, which comes at this period of the year.
