At a meeting of the Greytown Brass Band on Tuesday evening, it was decided to disband, and a deputation is to wait on the Borough Council to ask that body to act as Trustees for the Band property. The Greytown School has established a record for attendance this year, when about 90 first-class certificates will be issued. When the present Headmaster, Mr A. B. tifieates were issued, In 1908 over 40 were given, and this year the number is more than double. On Thursday, at noon, heavy rain fell in Greytown, lasting about two hours, bul the sun came through shortly after and dried things up in a short space of time, Greytown is looking at its best just now. The fruit and flower gardens are in full bearing and give the township a cheerful appearance. A number of the local gardeners are sending consignments of small fruits to Wellington daily, and the prices received are considered payable. The. Bowling Tournament for the Booth Cup held at Greytown on Thursday afternoon between the Masterton and Greytown Clubs resulted in Greytown being the victors in two rinks out of three.
