United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received October 26, 1.5 a.m. MELBOURNE, October 25. The contest for the heavyweight championship of Australia, between Bill Squires, of Newcastle, and W. Lang, of Melbourne, took place this evening, betora a big house. Considerable interest was taken in the match, because it was generally known that If Lang won Tommy Burns was to fight him. A good contest was witnessed, with excitement at fever pitch all thruugn Lang knocked Squires out in the twentieth round. No details are available.
