LIQUOR IN THE KING COUNTRY.
ill QUESTION OF WHOLESALE LICENSES. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 28. The question o"f the validity ot wholesale liquor licenses in the King Country was raised some time ago. and the matter resolved itself into a point as to whether the area affected was or was not native land at the time of the issue of the proclamationofNo^icense. The Survey Department has reported that its investigations show tbe land was not native land when the proclamation was issued; therefore, the Hon. Dr. Findlay (Attor-ney-Genural) Is of opinion that the ** licenses cannot be attacked .on the ground of invalidity.
