THE MISSING WARATAH.
Received September 24, 11.55 p.m. LONDON, September 24.
In response to a special inquiry Lloyd's agent at Manila telegraphs confirming the report of the captain of the steamer Harlow. The Harlow sighted %a smoking vessel at 7.30 o'clock in the evening, and an explo • sion occurred at 8 o'clock. The distance was too great to ascertain the ship's identity. The position of the wreck was latitude 31-38 longitude 29-45 east. The Lund Company state that the Clan Maclntyre reported sighting the Waratah at 8.0 o'clock in the morning of July 27th in the approximate position latitude 32-17 south, longitude 29 17 east, distant about 51 miles ahead of the wreck reported by the Harlow. The captain of the Harlow suggests that the bottom of the sea be swept for the Waratah.
