CARTERTON NEWS.

(From Our Resident Correspondent) Tuesday. The fortnightly meeting of Totara Lodge. U.A.0.D., was held last evening, only routine business being transacted. One friend was proposed for membership. Receipts for the meeting were £35 73 7d, a:d disbursements £2l 13s 2d. The Hope of Carterton Tent, 1.0. K., met last nierht in the Rechabite Hall, Bro. F.E.Tyler, C.R.,' being in the chair. Routine business was transacted, and the question of dealing with an accumulated levy was held over till the quarterly meetine*. One new member was initiated and another proposed for membership. This morning's supply of milk at the Dalefield Dairy Factory was 1,680 gallons, and at Belvedere 900 gallons. The Methodist Choir will hold two practices this week in view of celebrating the diamond wedding of Mr and Mrs S. Hart on Monday evennig next. It is expected that the gathering will be a very representative one of friends and relatives on this unique occasion. Last evening after the conclusion of the Druids' meeting, the Foresters met them in the Friendly Societies' card tourney, and won by 36 games to 25. To-morrow evening the Oddfellows and Foresters meet after the latter's meeting.
