THE FARMERS' FREEZING WORKS.
CANVASS FOR SHARES IN MASTERTON.
The benefits of thorough organisa - tion in canvassing for shares for the above works in Masterton was forcibly demonstrated by the reports submitted at the meeting of the Committee held in Mr R. Brown's office last evening. Previous to the public meeting being called on Friday evening last Messrs W. B. Chennells and W. H. Cruickshank had succeeded in placing shares to the value of £1,500. The combined efforts of the committees set up, however, had raised the total up to last nigjit to £4,120, embracing 824 shareholders. The Chairman 'Mr W. B. Chennells.. remarked that the result of the canvass was eminently satisfactory and the extra shares necessary to bring the total up to the required 5,000 seemed to be assured. It was decided to continue the canvas to-day, the committee to meet again this evening to report finally.
