CONSERVATORIUM OF MUSIC.

By Telegraph~Press Association. AUCKLAND, September 7. A deputation Irom the Auckland Society of Musicians waited on the Hon. G. Fowlds, and protested against the proposal to establish a conservatorium of music in New Zealand, on the ground that it could not be made a financial success. They also asked that a Musicians Bill should receive the support of the Government during the comipg session. They considered the present system of teaching singing in public schools resulted in the voices of many of the children being ruined. The Minister said the Government at present was not looking for any fresh channel of expenditure. He had rio personal objection to a Musicians Bill. He was strongly averse to the appointment of teachers of singing in public schools. Primary school teachers should do all the teaching necessary.
