MASTERTON v. PAHIATUA. At Pahiatua on Saturday, the local team suffered defeat at the bands of the. Masterton Club, by four game 3 to one, two of the games being ( halved. The results were as follows (Masterton players being mentioned first in each case): — C. Cox beat J. Osborne Lilly, 5 up and 4 to play. A. B. Lawrence beat H. McSherry, 2 up and 1 to play. B. Booth lost to J. C. Swainson, 2 down and 1 to play. W. H. Booth beat G. H. Smith. 7 up and 6 to play. A. E. Booth and Rev. Marshall, I all square. A. J. Cameron beat W. E. Collins, 2 up and 1 to play. J. Hirschberg and E. B. Hare, all square.
