(From Our Resident Correspondent). Thursday. To-day was a typical winter's tlav. There were occasional showers of rain, and hail, and a few flakes of snow also fell. / The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge, J.0.0.P., M.U., was held alst night, Bro. W. Sutler, N.G.. being in the chair. Only routine busines3 was transacted. One new member was initiated. The Druids and Oddfellows Lodges met in the first game of the second round of the United rriendly Societies' card tourney last night, the former securing a victory by 24 games to 15. So far the Oddfellows are leading with four points, the uruids and Foresters having each scored twoj'points. of the Bowling Club met last evening, when it was reported that £SO of the ground mortgage had recently been paid off. It was decided that the tennis grounds receive attention during the off season. It was resolved to procure a set of rubber mats for the green. Mr A. Lindop was accorded a vote of thanks fcr his promise of a trophy for a junior pairs tournament The senior pairs tournament is to be played on the same conditions as last year. The Wallace, Masson Implement Com : pany were accorded a vote ot thanks for an offer to provide the iron frame work ready for erection for the arbours in the green.
