Canada is supplying very little butter to British markets this season. In June she sent 39ewt against, 1944 cwt in June ot last year. Her total shipments this year to the end of June have only been 2,614cwt. For the same period of last year she supplied 218,607cwt Five men on the Victoria College relief works and on the Wadestown road job at Wellington have been dismissed because of aversion to do a fair day's work, of which they were capable. There had been previous warnings given to them, but they failed to heed them. One nf the pleasantest sallius made at the meeting held in Auckland to do honour to the Leader of the Opposition was that of Mr F. M. B. Fisher, M.P., in referring to the present day legislators of New Zealand. These gentlemen he likened to nine vicars of Bray, whe, if ynu went to them to settle the question of whether you should drink beer or lemonade, would say, "Mix them, my boy." Amidst roars of laughter, Mr Fisher proceeded to criticise what he termed the "shandygaff" legislation of the Government. You cannot hear ttio great operatic stars, but the great composers of music i may be your daily companions. All you want is a piano—a good piano. Inferior pianos are an irritation. The Dresden Piano Company stocks only good pianos, selected with special regard to New Z«aland climate and conditions. The Dresden Company is absolutely straight in its dealings. That is principle.
