Mr and Mrs H. C. Low, who have been residing in Masterton for the past eighteen months, left here vesterday for Dunedin, where they have decided to take up their dence. Private advices received in Wellington state that the Hon. T K. Macdonald, M.L.C., who is at present in England, continues to improve in health. Mr Mac Donald has been having a busy time visiting various places of .interest, and he has alsT had some interesting interviews ,with some prominent public men in London. "The Hon. J. Carroll, ActingPremier," says' the "Poverty Bay Herald" of Friday, "is 51 years of age to-day. It is the first iime for about eighteen years that he has bee.i able to spend his birthday in the district which he represents. Usially at this time of the year Parliament is in session. Mr Carroll received many hearty good wishes today pr'mr to leaving town for Wharerata." At St. James' Church, Kaikora North, Hawke's Bay, on August 4th 1 !st Mis 3 Nellie Small, fourth I daughter of the late Mr W. H. Small, of Fernside, Kaikora, was married to Mr Sidney Ashwin Cover, eldest son of Mr F. Gover, of Fernridge, Mount Eden, Auckland, and late of Masterton Misses Kate and Alice Small and Winnie and Eileen French were the bridesmaids. Mr W. i Small was best man, and Mr O. I Krogh groomsman.
