After beating altitude records by attaining a height of 1,500 metres, the French dirigible Clement Boyard in a trial trip before delivery to Russia, was descending at Maisonalaffitte, when it was caught in a squall and struck a tree. The car fell into the Seine, but the four occupants swam safely ashore. In the trials at Rheims, M. Paudhate, in a Voison biplane covered 34| miles in 56 minutes. M. Bleriot, in a 50 horse-power monoplane, made a world's speed record, covering 10 kilometres in 8 minutes 42 seconds. M. Curtess, in a biplane, then beat-this record by 7 'seconds. The British delegates, headed by General French, are expected to arrive at Kheims to-day.
