CARTERTON NEWS.

(From Our Resident Reporter). Monday. Mr W. A. Herrick, has purchased Mrs Hooper's farm at Parkvale. Mr H. Henderson, who recently had a leg fractured during the progress of a football match here, has sufficiently recovered to be able to take outdoor exercise with the aid of crutches.

The local rifle corps has decided to send at team to military tournament a Palmerston North in November. Br E. W. Smyth has been elected an honorary member of the

company. A movement is on foot her 3to form an Association Football Club.

On Thursday week a poster dance is to be held in the CI revilla Hall Mr U. H. Harbroe has returned to Carterton from a visit to Christchurch.

The annual meeting of the Belvedere Co-operative Dairy Cempany was held this aZfcernoon, Mr G. Stevens presiding. The report and balance sheet was adopted. Messrs M. O'Reily and Geo. Thomas were re-elected directors. It was resolved to re-open the factory on Monday next, and to donate Is per supplier to the prize fund of the P. and A. Society's butter fat competition.
