NEW LIGHTHOUSE.
By Telegraph—Press Association. GISBORNE, August 16. The Hon. J. Carroll on Saturday proceeded, with a number of local bodied, to/Tuahine Point, and formally handed over to the Harbour . Bread the new lighthouse constructed f by the Government. The lighthouse is to exhibit its light to shipping for the first time to-night. . It will be' maintained by the board. Reference was made to the great benefit the light will be to shipping approaching Poverty Bay*[from both north and south.
