WAIRARAPA v. HAWKE'S BAY. By Telegraph—Press Association. , NAPIER, August 14. | The representative hockey match Wairarapa v. Hawke's Bay was played on the Recreation Ground, this afternoon, before a fair attendance of spectators. The local men were faster than their opponents, and they passed with more judgment. In the first spell Hawke's Bay were almost continually attacking, but the Wairarapa full backs . and five-eighths relieved their side again and again witn long hits down the field, which were, however-, quickly returned. The visitors half-back line was rather weak. In this spell Hawke's Bay scored two goals and but lor over-eagerness and bad shootjug in the circle the score should
have been at least doubled. In the second spell Wairarapa's forwards played a greatly improved game and: they made some good dribbling runs, which several times put the Hawke's Bay goal in danger, but the local full-backs and goalkeeper were equal to the and stayed! off tbe at\aft\v.
