TASMANIAN POTATOES RUSHED INTO MELBOURNE. (Jnited Press Association-By Electric Telegraph Copyisht. Received August 13. 10.55 a m. MELBOUNE, August 13. Large shipments of Tasmanian potatoes are pouring into Melbourne, against the contingency of their importation being prohibited. Received August 13, 10.15 p.m. SYDNEY, August 13. Two members of the Tasmanian Parliament interviewed tha Minister of Agriculture to-day with a view to induce him to withhold the prohibition of Tasmanian potatoes. Subsequently a proclamation was issued prohibiting the importation of Taßmanian potatoes. A conference of State Ministers of Agriculture will be held in Mel T bourne next week, whereat the potato disease and the prohibition question will be discussed A statement has been made that potatoes infected with the blight have reached Sydney from the Western districts.
