ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION.
WHAT IT COST. Received August 12, 8.40 a.m. LONDON, August 11. Lieutenant Shackieton states that the Antarctic expedition cost £43,000. The expenditure continues, as there is a staff of nine men working out scientific results. Mr Shackieton does not desire to bring personal pressure to bear for a national grant.
