A cleaner discovered a cash box containing sixty-eight thousand pounds sterling worth of bank-notes in a railway carriage at Benevento Station, in Southern Italy. There was no trace of the ownership. The carriage .was lately used in the earthquake-ravaged district, and it is surmised that the rotes were the spoil of thieves.
