INFANTICIDE IN MELBOURNE.
Received August 4, 10 a.m. MELBOURNE, August 4. The Melbourne coroner, in holding an inquest on three infants, whose death was in each case due to suffocation, declared that Melbourne was drifting into a condition similar to what existed at the worst period of the Roman Empire, when infanticide was so comman that toe matter was neglected altogether.
