MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The ordinary meeting, of the Masterton Borough Council was held last evening. There were present: —The Mayor (Mr P. L. Hollings), and Crs R. Rigg, J. C. Ewington, F. W. Temple, Jas. Elliott. Apologies for absence were received from Crs Pauling and Prentice. Referring to the report of the Northern Approach Committee the Mayor explained the arrangement that.had been arrived at between the two local bodies. As far as could be ascertained the work could not be commenced for many months owing to the difficulty of raising the money. If they were unable to get it from the Government they could probably obtain it from other sources. J He thought, however, that after the Commission had apportioned the cost of the undertaking, they could then arrive at some conclusion as to h n w the money could be obtained. It was a matter for congratulation that the vexed question of the Northern approach had been settled. Cr Temple spoke in similar terms.
