Arabindo Ghose, founder of the native newspaper "Bande Mataram." is inciting the Bengalis to assemble in tens of thousands on August 7th, jto celebrate the anniversary of the boycott. A HOTBED OF TREASON. Received July 14, 9.30 a.m. LONDON, July l'i. Reciter's Simla correspondent states that seditious printing by the j native press has practically cleansed ,in India, but the Indian Government has frequently called Lord Morley's j attention to the India House —the institution founded by Mr Krishnavarma in London —whence dangerous pamphlets are issued, causing the utmost mischief. A GOVERNOR'S SPEECH. PROFOUND SENSATION PRODUCED. Received July 14, 9.50 p.m. CALCUTTA, July 14. Sir E. N. Baker, LieutenantGovernor of Bengal, addressing the Bengal Council, said that there had been enough denunciations of the outrages committed. Now was the time for more than talk. He added that unless the education authorities, parents,...and students actively cooperated with the Government, a solution of the matter would come, butjjnot in a peaceful or painless way; mr would there be room then to discriminate between the innocent and the guilty.
The speech has produced a profouni sensation.
