The match of the Australian cricketers was resumed to-day, in dull weather. There was a moderate attendance of spectators. M'Alister an:' Bardsley resumed batting for the Australians on an improved wicket. The former was taken rather the slips after capital all-round play, lasting 65 minutes. One for 84. Bardsley, playing with the utmost confidence, saw his partners go one after another. He maintained fine cutting and leg hitting, and was brilliant throughout. He gave a chance, although a difficult one, at 144. His second century was brought up after four hours' play. He gave another sharp chance to Langdon at point when he had made 187. Hartigan was taken brilliantly low down. Two for 93. Trumper got his score in 45 minutes, during which he mnde some good drives. Three for 165.
Resumption of play after Junch was delayed twenty-five minutes owing to rain. Gregory played steadily for seventy minutes, when Board stumped him. Four for 285. Armstrong made a stand for an hour, and then got his leg in front. Five tor 347. Eventually Bardsley was taken easily it rnid-off, after a splendid allround innings, occupying two hundred and eighty minutes. His score included twenty-six fourers. The sixth wicken fell for 371, Ihe seventh for 377, and the eighth for 399. Noble, who gave a fine exhibition of driving, was still in at the drawing of dtumps, with 51 to his credit; Me total standing it.'445 for eight wickets. Scores GLOUCESTERSHIRE.
