| THE AGE CUP. HUIA v. HIGH SCHOOL. A match was played on the Showgrounds, yesterday afternoon, between the Huia and High School teams. A fast and interesting game resulted, High School having soraawhat the best ot play. High School won the toss, and played with the sun and wind behind them. Huia attacked from the bully, Misses Fmnis and Wagg heading a dangerous rush. The Reds were kept busy defending for some time. A free hit against High School further strengthened the Huias' position. Miss Dalrymple carried the ball right into the circle, and a lively scramble took place, the situation being eventually relieved by good hitting by Misses Reed. McKenzie and Miller. Play went from one end of the field to the other, Miss Finnis being prominent for her line dashes and good hitting. A shot at goal by this player had just a little too much t"'ist on, going wide. The School were on the defensive for some time, and then playing with good combination held their own for the rest of the spell. The second half was even more exciting than the first. Early in the spell pretty'passing rushes, in which Misses A. O'Leary, Reed, McKenzie, Wilton, Dagg and Scott, took part, placed Huia on the defence, but brilliant play by Misses La Roche, Ball, Peters and Rayner, repeatedly saveda score. Time after time the School would sweep down the field, only to be by the sound defensive j work of the Huia backs. Then Huia ' had *a turn at attacking, and several times Misses Finnis, Richards. Dalrymple, Wagg and Barr, indulged in good passing rushes, but off-side play invariably spoilt their work. For the remainder of the spell tho School held the upper 'hard, and on two occasions narrowly missed scoring.- Ju?t before the call of time Miss Dalrymple made a brilliant run more than half the length of the field, and the whistle shortly after sounded time without any score having been recorded. Mr B. Iveson was referee. MAJOR CUP. KNOX v. W.F.C A. Knox and W.F.C.A. met on th? Showgrounds, Masterton, yesterday afternoon, when the former were victorious by 4 goals to 1 goal. Knox held the upper hand practically all through th2 game, their forward rushes being at times brilliant. The Knox forwards showed greatly improved form, as compared with the last time the teams met, whili th<e play of the W.F.C.A. backs not up to their usual standard. For the j winners J. Clarke (2), J. Griy *nd W. White scored, and R. Hatch for W.F.C.A. Mr M. D. Mclntoah controlled the gAme in hia usual impartial JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. KNOX v. W.F.C.A. W.F.CA.. Juniors were defeated by Knox Juniors, at Masterton, by 2 goals to 1 goal. The play was very fast, the W.F.C.A. forwards showing better combination than previously. In spell the Reds had by far the best of the game, and were very unlucky in their shooting, certain goals being lost through this fault. Knox livened up in the second spell, and were mostly on the attack, but the good hitting on the part of the W.F.C.A. backs saved repeatedly. L. Boyd and J. Berry were responsible for the Knox goals, and B. Potter for W.F.C. A. 's goal. Mr R.J. Goodman refereed in a very impartial manner. CARTERTON A v. CARTERTON B. The Junior Championship match between the Carterton A and B teams was played on Carrington Park, yesterday afternoon, and ended in favour of the former by 5 goals to I.'
