FATAL FIRES.
THE BLENHEIM TRAGEDY. By Telegraph—Press Association. BLENHEIM, July 5. An inquest on the bodies of Mrs Joseph Taylor, and two children, burnt in Friday night's fire, opened yesterday. The evidence failed to show how the outbreak originated. The inquest was adjourned till Friday in the hope of Taylor bei'ig, able to appear. At present he ha 3 no recollection of anything connected .with the fire. THUi FIRE AT ELTHAM. VICTIMS SUCCUMB. By Telegraph—Press Association. ELTHAM, July 5. Mrs Bill, one of the victims of the burning accident on Saturday, died at 7 30 o'clock on Saturday night. The two girls, who were also burnt, were removed to Hawera Hospital Both are badly injured. Mrs Bill was about 37 years of age. She leaves a widower and five children. News has been received of the death of the youngest child, aged 4, in the Hawera Hospital at an early hour this morning. The Mayor of Eltham is making an appeal to, the public on behalf of Mr Bill, who is rendered penniless by the fire, besides losing wife and child.
