SAFETY RAILWAY BRAKE ATTACHMENT.

By Telegraph—Fress Association. WELLINGTON, June 16. A trial was made this morning on a special train between Wellington and Lower Hutt of the Christie patent safety railway brake attachment. The trial was very successful, the appliance satisfying an requirements, and fulfilling the claims of the inventor, Mr N. C. Christie, of Invercargill. The invention provides the means of indicating at once to the driver of a txain whether the brakes are co-operative or inoperative, and also gives means of communication by telephone between the different carriages and the driver in case of accident.
