The first payment for the Southland ooursing Club's Waterloo Cup is due on Saturday, and already 41 payments have been received. These include four from Auckland, three from Gisborne, four from Wellington, one from Palmerston, three from Timaru, three from Oamaru, two from Dunedin, two from Lawrence,* and two from Kaitangata. The rest are from Southland dog owners. The entries are limited to 64, and as the meeting will not take place till the 7th of next month the committee is beginning to be confident of filling the list to the limit—a thing which has not been done for twenty years. The prize money for the meeting; totals £260.
