MAN DRIVEN TO DESPERATION., ATTEMPTS TO MURDER HIS CHILDREN. Received May 17, 8.35 a.m.\ LONDON, May 16. George Brown, a collier at Cornsburgh, iiFYorkshire, who had been out of work for eleven months, attempted to murder his eight sleeping children by turning on the gas. He then committed suicide. • . The children are in a serious state, but will probably recover.
