PRACTICABLE PROPOSALS. GOVERNMENT MOVING IN THE MATTER. Received May 17, 10.56 p.m. LONDON, May 17. The Right Hon. John Burns, President of the Local Government Board, speaking at Carshalton, said tbat something was being done with regard to the Poor Law Commission reports. The Government were determined.tq lose no time or opportunity in the administration and carrying out of the practical proposals contained in both reports. If the country knew its business it would remit both reports and the whoie problem to the resident -roca 1 ! government Board for practical action, whenever ae or the Department thought uch action necessary.
