COAL MINERS' WAGES.

, PROPOSED REDUCTION. Received May 11. 11.5 p.m. LONDON, May 11. The Miners' Federation of Scotland has refused to accept a reduction of 11| per cent, as proposed by the coalmasters. The men's delegates afterwards discussed the matter, but failed to agree, and they therefore adjourned till the 22nd. Eighty thousand men are affected. The South Wales coalmasters propose a reduction of 7 1 per cent., which the men have declined to accept. The matter has been referred to Viscount Sair.t Aldwyn, Chairman of the Conciliation Board.
