Socialists and the Labour Federation have proclaimed a general strike «Jt Buenos Ayres, as a protest against the May Day incidents. They demand the resignation of the Prefect of Police. The trade of the port is paralysed. Strikers are holding up the trains. Two thousand troops have reinforced the garrison. Street-fighting is in progress. A cablegram on Monday stated that a riot was provoked by Anarchists during the May Day demonstration. During the disturbances twelve persons were killed and a hundred injured. OVER 200,000 STRIKERS. Received May 5, IO.gO p.m. BUENOS AYRES, May 5. There are over 200,000 strikers m Buenos Ayres.
