THE EVE OF GREAT CHANGES. FOR THE COUNTRY'S GOOD. OPTIMISM OF SIR S. CLARKE. LONDON, March 12. Sir Sydenham Clarke, Governor of Bombay, was a guest of the Ludge of Imperial Brotherhood, Bombay, consisting of Freemasons of all races, aiming at mutual co-operation. __ Sir Sydenham remarked, in the course of a speech, that India's system of Government was on the eve of great changes—changes which, he believed, would be for the country's good. He added that the success of the changes was dependent on the cooperation of all classes and creeds, and he rejoiced ' that he was able to associate himself with a movement to that end.
