ANNUAL CONFERENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Februarj 26. t The annual conference of the Methodist Church was continued today at the Taranaki street Church. The Rev. T. Fee, who was elected President last night, occupied the chair. r The business of the morning was j the election of various committees. I The following hymen were elected t to the Stationing Committee Auckland: Messrs G. Winscone and J. ( Wheeler. Wanganui district: Messrs \ E. Dixon and G. H. Bennett. Wei- t lington district: Messrs J. G. Hark- ; ness and D. Eller. Nelson district: ( Messrs E. H. Penny and A. A. , f Lucas. Canterbury district: Messrs ! G. H. Blackwell, R. H. Turner and J. A. Flesher. Otago district: Messrs J. F. Arnold, M.P., and E. Rnsevere. The first business to-morrow morning will be the consideration of the balance sheet by the Stationing Committee. The Rev. Thomas Fee, who was elected President of the conference, was born in Ireland in 1850. After a brief experience in business he entered the teaching profession and taught for some years in Ireland. He came out to New Zealand in 1873, and carried on for a time his profession as teacher until he was called into the Ministry. He was , trained for his new work at the Methodist Institution"Three Kings," Auckland. Since then he has 1 laboured in the ministry. Last year ! he devoted himself entirely to ■ prompting the No-License movement, f of which he is a staunch advocate. The Rev. S. Lawry, the Seecretary, has had previoustexperience in connection with conference work. Four years ago he was a resident of the Conference,. and for two ye-rs s prior to that Secretary. Last year - he was also Secretary to the Confery encce. Mr Lawry is a well known a minister, having occupied some of the most prominent circuits in the 1 Dominion.
