The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd., report on th.nr Masterton sale yesterday as fol- I lows:—We had a good average yard- j ing of sheep, embracing all classes, and the quality throughout being gocd, we were enabled to make a complete clearance at rates in advance of late sales, the tone of the marftet being firm for -all useful sheep, one particular line of extra good 2 tooth ewes, on account of Mr E. Perry, making the price of the season—viz., 14s. In rams we offered several lots left over from the recent Fair, every lot selling under the hammer. Cattle entries were not large, but of good quality, which fact e*n- , abied us to make sales under the hammer. A few horses came forward, and some useful sorts in draughts and hacks met with a sale. Breeding ewes, sound, lis 6d to 12s 6d, medium quality, 8s to 9s; culls, 5s 9d to 7s; best woolly lambs, 10s, others Bs, small 6s to 7s; shorn, 8s; extra good 2-tooth ewes, 14s lid; wethers, lls7d; Lincoln rams, _ 2 to 3 guineas; Romrievs, 2 to 2J guineas; Downs, aged, Ito 14 guineas; empty heifers 555; 2-year steers, 57s 6d 18 months, 555; yearlings, 455; j unbroken colts and fillies by Rob Rov, £l4 to £l6; serviceable hacks up to £3; pony, £3. - Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as folbvvs on their fortnightly sale at their Masterton yards yesterday:—We offered a good yarding of sheep of all classes. There was a good attendance, and buyers were present from all parts of the district. For good ewes lambs and wethers there was a good enquiry, and ail good sorts met with a ready sale. We quote as follows Forward 2 tooth wethers, 12s; sound mouth ewes, low condition, 9s 8d; f.m. ewes, 6s 6d to 7s; 2 tooth ewes, 12s 3d to 12s 6d; f.f.ni. ewes, 12s 6d \o 13s; cull lambs, 6s 8d to 7s; 2 tooth Shropshire ram 2J guineas. Fat and forward cows £3 17s. A team of eight working bullocks with ' yokes, drays, etc., £SB.
