POLLARD'S JUVENILE OPERA COMPANY.
Judging by the number of seats already booked, the four nights season of this combination, which will commence at the Town Hall on Monday, bids fair to exceed all previous records in attendances. A contemporary says:—Playgoers in the past have been deeply indebted to !Vr Pollard for bringing to their doors, at reasonable prices, jmany old work! successes in light opera and musical com°dy that otherwise they would probably never have seen.. When we learn that Mr Pollard conisders his production of "The Gay Hussar," with which the season will be inaugurated, as excelling anything he has ever placed before his patrons, the lovers of tuneful music, graceful ballets, clever comedv, and magnificent scenery and effects, can look forward to a rare treat. Several of the numbers are recognised musical gems, the popular contralto of the Company, Miss Cissie O'Keefe, has one charming ballad, entitled "Colleen Asthare," that is at present heing sung nightly on the concert platforms of Sydney and Melbourne. As the first act of piece is laid in Earl's Court. London, and the second in Japan, we may be certain that Mr Pollard will have something good in spectacle."
