SEIZURE OF OPIUM.

OYER 800 TINS SECURED. Received January 28, 12.30 a.m. SYDNEY, January 27. The Customs authorities seized over 800 tins of opium valued at between £2,500 and £3,000. When the steamer Empire left port this afternoon a launch was seen manoeuvring in her vicinity southward from Sydney Heads. The launch entered the Heads to-night and was shepherded by the Customs authorities, who boarded her up the harbour, seized the vessel, and arrested all on board.
