PERSONAL.

The elevation of Mr A. W. Hogg, M.P., to Cabinet rank, was a matter brought up at the meeting of the Masterton A. and P. Association General Committee on Saturday afternoon. Mr J. Morris said he thought the Association, as representing the firming community, should extend congratulations to Mr Hoger on his appointment. Other speakers coincided with the views expressed by Mr Morn's, and on the motion of the latter, seconded by Mr T. P. Letr, it was unanimously resolved to send a congratulatory letter to the new Minister for Labour and Customs.
