GENERAL ELECTION. GOVERNMENT VICTORY. A CHARGE OF BRIBERY. Received October 28, 9 a.m.. , OTTAWA, October 27. , The Canadian election returns, though incomplete, show that Sir Wilfrid Laurier's Government has been returned with a decreased following. , • Oh the eve of the election, Mr Murphy, the new Secretary of State, issued an order that employees of the Government Printing Bureau were hereafter to receive a fortnight's holiday annually. The Conservatives are incensed, and accuse Mr Murphy of unblushing bribery. A REDUCED MAJORITY. LONDON, October 27. Reuter's Ottawa correspondent reports that §ir Wilfred Laurier will have a majority of 50,, instead.of, as at the previous election, 66. j Sir W. Laurier and Sir F.W. Borden (Minister for Militia.and Defence) ; were each elected for two seats.
