Premier, Sir : Thomas Bent, secured an adjournment to November 19th for the' purpose of reconstructing the Ministry. "''He announced that his colleagues had placed themselves unreservedly in his hands, and had insisted on his asking for an adjournment. Prior to the announcement, the Country Party met, and decided by a bare majority to give the Ministry time to reconstruct. FIRE. AT AN OIL BORE. . Received October 28, 10.40 a.m. BRISBANE, October 28. The Mineral Oil Company's bore at ROma struck gas, which immediately ignited. The flames,\rising to ; a height of one hundred feet, destroyed the plant. The roaring of the escaping gas could be heard miles away. The latest report is to the effect that oil is now issuing from the bore, but that the flames are increasing and that the heat is so intense that it is impossible to approach the bore. Attempts will be made to smother* the flame. .•
