LONDON ELECTRICITY SUPPLY BILL.

Received October 21, 8 30 a.m. LONDON, October 20. In the House of Commons, Mr Hudson Kearley, Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade, moved that it be an instruction to the committee to insert in the London Electricity Supply Bill a clause giving the London County Council ultimate power to purchase. A motion by Mr Winston Churchill, President of the Board of Trade, to closure the debate was resisted by Kadicals and Labourites, but was carried by 153 to 144 amid cries of "Resign!" Mr Kearley's motion was then carried by 212 votes to 79.
