A SAD FATALITY. A TRAIN DERAILED. PASSENGERS BURNED TO DEATH. Received October IS, 4.20 p.m. NEW YORK, October 17. Destructive forest fires are reported from Michigan and also 'loss of life. Tha fires destroyed a culvert on the railway line causing a train containing fugitives from Metz to become derailed. The wreckage caught fire and a panic resulted. The men fled, leaving the women and children. In a steel car 15 charred skeletons were found. The fireman took refuge in the engine tank and was boiled to death.
