SATISFACTORY ENTPwIES. By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMERSTON N., October 17. Entries for the live stock division of the Manawatu A. and P. Show, which includes horses, sheep, cattle, dogs an poultry, closed on Friday last, and in these days when quality if more aimed for than quantity, numbers are not considered so much as previousy, but nevertheless the figures below will prove interesting. The sheep entries total in all 560, cattle 230 and horses 270. In the ring events there are 35 competitors in the maiden hunters; lady riders, hunters (second day), 15; leaping competition (steeplechase style), 22; ladies' challenge cup, 30; and for the rest of the competitions, such as ladies' riding and driving there are about 40 entries all told. In the pig classes the entries number about 7.0, and for dogs about 300. These figures are necessarily only approximate as many post entries will be received, and further numbers are expected after the Hawke's Bay Show. The implement section will cover about 40,000 feet, and the public schools and industrial exhibits will take about 3,000 square feet of wall space, j j j^j
